Alcuin
Bring order to Postgres. Every value exactly as the server sent it. Every change shown as SQL before it runs. Free and open source.
Alcuin is in public beta, at version 0.1. It runs on macOS 13 or later with Apple silicon, and on x64 Linux. It works with Postgres 14 to 18. Limits and requirements has the details.
What Alcuin promises
Section titled “What Alcuin promises”Nothing is written until you commitEvery edit is staged and shown as the SQL that will run. A commit sends it all in one transaction, or none of it.
Values exactly as the server sent themNo rounded numbers or shifted time zones, and NULL never looks like an empty string.
Production opens read-onlyYou unlock it to edit, and it locks again on its own.
